Question of the Month
Each month, The Peminic-Greeley PSO selects a Question of the Month that is designed to highlight best practices, help organizations deal with common challenges, and encourage professional development. We will also address any news related to PSOs that might cause confusion about collecting data.

What kind of data do you get back from the PSO?
The PSO provides two major types of information that you get back as a member of the PSO. We break this into two categories:
- Reporting Benchmarks
- Problem/Solution Triggers
The Reporting Benchmarks are very useful information which allows you to benchmark your reporting process against a larger aggregated set of data. It helps you answer questions like:
- Are we reporting enough? Is the distribution of our occurrence reports similar to others?
- Are we weak in reporting of any specific types of events?
- What is our ratio of high significance events to low significant events?
- How are we doing on near miss reporting?
If you find that you are significantly different from your peers in your voluntary reporting process you can refer to the Member Library for potential solutions or the PSO Consultants can help you make sustainable change in the robustness of your reporting process.
The Problem/Solution Triggers look at the aggregated data and analyze it for indications of emerging problems or areas where a solution might be applicable. We use the Four Simple Questions as a foundation to ensure that the Problem/Solution triggers are effective in helping you answer the question ”Should we stay the course or change direction” for your organization.
